Law degree awarded by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Master's in Legal Practice and Procedure by the Centro de Estudios Financieros . Luis Vidal lectures at the Study Centre of the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid and heads the Diplomatura programme for Immigration Law at the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid .

Mr Vidal has given numerous speeches and seminars on immigration law at public and private centres. He is co-author of the book “Derecho de Extranjería, Migración y Asilo”, (“Immigration, Migration and Asylum Law”), Editorial Fundación para la Formación de Altos Profesionales, 1999; and the Manual on “Derecho de Extranjería, Práctica Administrativa y Jurisdiccional”, (“Immigration Law, Administrative and Jurisdictional Practice”), Dykinson, 2002, currently undergoing revision
